Get thee back to Major Developments | Contact | New! Button Hall of Fame

Button Up is our little cottage industry (sans cottage).

We make one-inch, pin-back buttons for bands and other people who have an uncontrollable urge to attach things to their clothing.

We are all kinds of hands-on and humble with our little process, using a machine known secretly in the button world by its special name: "1-inch Button Machine." We do this as a labor of love, and because we like mindless, repetitive processes. We have not acquired a vast fortune from our endeavor. Nay, sometimes we break even. Sometimes we turn a big enough profit to buy a thimbleful of beer which must be shared among all the button gnomes.

Button Up is proud to be the sole provider of buttons to Josh Cole and the Household, a special relationship based on mutual respect and the fact that we will hurt him if he gets his buttons from someone else.

We've been happy buttonistas for Hoiu, as well as other fine or totally insane bands in PDX, Boston, other less obvious parts of New England and even faraway (for us) San Francisco: The Sun Lee Sunbeam, Bon Savants, Paper Brain, San Francisco's splendiferous Built for the Sea, The Debutantes, Percy Hill, Crumb Sullivans, Inevitable Zombie Apocalypse, Tall Man, Canoofle, Gerhard Helmut, Booty Vortex, and Sad Marvin. (We don't name 'em; we just make the buttons.)

Non-profits like to button up too: Check out Progress Charity Group. They put every dime they raise back out there to people who need it most. And we made buttons for another good non-profit, Jamaica Plain Centre/South Main Streets.

"What enormous sum will you extort from me to make my buttons?"
-- Minimum order: 50 buttons. Price: $15

NEW! Fear of Commitment Special! 10 buttons for $5, and we'll pick up the postage.

"What are the burdensome, high-tech art requirements?"
-- It's best if you can give us your artwork 300 x 300 pixels in size with a resolution of 300 DPI (dots per inch) or pixels per inch.
-- If you can't do that, we've still had good results with lower quality graphics. If you're concerned, just order our Fear of Commitment special of 10 buttons for $5 (where we pay the postage).
-- If you don't have art just let us know. We can usually help you out somehow.

"Shipping? Paying?"
-- We're in Massachusetts. (How did we get here? We drove 3200 miles from Portland Ore.)
-- We mail your buttons. Price depends on quantity and if you want fancy postal options. It's about $2 to send 50 with the annoying new postage rates.
-- We can turn small (up to 200) orders around in days. Ginormous orders take a bit longer.
-- Pay via Paypal. Sometimes we take checks but we like to confer with your parole officer first.
-- If you are Josh Cole you need only display your formidable wit and we just hand over the buttons. Though we hope you will help support us in our old age. Which starts tomorrow.
